Coach Kate Bio

As a kid, I was never into sports or exercise. Running the mile once a week in middle school would make me nervous because I was never athletic. The summer after my freshman year of high school, I started working out with a personal trainer, Paul. I have to say that Paul changed my life forever. He made me fall in love with exercise. He introduced me to CrossFit during my senior year of high school in 2012 and I loved it. I dragged Josh to the intro class with me and we never looked back. It was exactly what we needed, something where you always have room for improvement, that is fun, & allows you to meet people from all walks of life. CrossFit has not only made me fitter but has also given me another family. I love the community aspect of CrossFit.

I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a B.S. in Exercise Science in 2016 and a Masters of Public Health with an emphasis in Health Promotion in 2019. I am also a ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and a CrossFit-Level 3 Trainer. Not only do I have a passion for fitness but I also have a passion for educating others on the importance of being active and living a healthy lifestyle. CrossFit has allowed me to change people’s lives and help them realize that they can do anything that they set their mind to. I am so grateful for all of the people who have walked through CFA’s doors and made it what is it today.
