What was your athletic background, if any?

I played both travel and high school soccer.

What led you to Crossfit and CFA specifically?  

My roomie (Sally Hoy) was a CrossFit queen and dragged me to the social events. The social events turned into WODs, and I haven’t looked back since.

What do you do when you're not at CFA?

I teach Special Education, hang out with friends, and spend lots of time outside.

When did you realize that CrossFit is right for you?

When I was so sore I couldn’t walk up the stairs, yet I still showed up the next day. Eventually it became a habit!

Do you remember your first WOD?

I just remember that people were doing handstand push-ups, I tried too... and went head first into the wall.

What is your favorite or least favorite WOD/movement?

Running… we all know why lol.

What has been your all-time favorite moment at CFA?  

I would say just the family and community aspect overall has really surprised me. I love walking into the gym and seeing my fitness fam there ready to crush that day’s WOD. You will even get texts sometimes asking where you have been if you haven’t showed up in a few days. So long story short… I just really love the people.

What motivates you during a tough workout?

When WODs get hard I just think to myself, wow how lucky am I to get to workout, some people aren’t so fortunate. Oh and the tunes, can’t forget those! 

What are your goals going forward and what do you think will help you achieve them? 

My overall goal is to improve my health and be the best I can be. Consistently showing up to the gym and having the discipline to do hard things will hopefully get me there one day!  


What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness or just day to day life since starting CrossFit (before/after?) 

I have seen tons of changes since starting CrossFit a little over 2 years ago. I have lost 65+ pounds, put on tons of muscle, cleaned up my eating habits, seen drastic improvement in my energy levels, and improved my overall mental health. 


What would you recommend to someone who is just starting out with CrossFit or is too afraid to try it? 

It is intimidating at first, but stick with it and you won’t be disappointed. Everybody there is working towards a common goal, yet they all have their individual goals. If you want the COOLEST group of people to support you and get your life back on track I highly recommend giving CrossFit a try. 

If you could have one skill or characteristic of another member at CFA what and from whom would it be? Or which other CFA member are you the most motivated by?  

If I could embody the characteristics of a member at CFA it would be Christine. Christine shows up every day, motivates others, and crushes the WODs. She is just the whole package of badassery if that’s even a word.

Favorite place you have traveled: Cool hikes Up North, haven’t traveled too much yet, but I hopefully will have some cool plans to travel in the years to come because I am adulting now! 

Favorite Tv Show: I don’t watch much TV but if I had to pick, Survivor.

Favorite Drink: White Claw (Sam's Club, jumbo pack)

Coach's comment:

Meghan used to just come to the gym social events and kickball and we would ask her everyday when she was going to workout. Fast forward a while and for whatever reason that was the day… and she hasn’t looked back since. She got in the habit of coming to the gym everyday and it really has paid off. Not only has she gotten stronger and learned how to do pull-ups but also amid some nasty shin splints she has gotten better at running. Meghan is fun to be around and one the most friendly people at CFA. We have been happy to see her grow from student to teacher in her career and we are just happy to be a small part in her journey. Keep up the hard work Megz!
